Meet Dr. Sowmya Kanumilli – Aldie VA Dentist
Dr. Sowmya Kanumilli attended Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine where she graduated with Honors as a Doctor of Dental Medicine. Dr. Kanumilli is a member of American Dental Association, The Virginia Dental Association, The Northern Virginia Dental Association and is Invisalign certified. Following graduation, she worked in all aspects of dentistry and particularly enjoys cosmetic dentistry. She finds it very rewarding that by a smile makeover she is able to help improve her patient’s appearance and their outlook in life. She also believes that Continuing education is the key to clinical excellence.
Dr. Kanumilli has been recognized by the Consumers’ Research Council of America as the America’s Top Dentist for 2011 through 2018 and as Northern Virginia’s Top Dentist by Northern Virginia Magazine from 2014 through 2019. She is considered by her patients to be prompt and friendly providing the highest standard of dentistry and service.
She is also a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) dentist, one of the most rigorous continuing dental education awards that only 6% of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada receive. Her FAGD standing means she is committed to going beyond the educational and licensing requirements of a general dentist to stay current on the latest developments, technologies, and procedures to provide her patients with the best care.

Dr. Kanumilli and her husband Vinod reside in Ashburn and have two children (Abhinav and Anika). The most famous member of the household though is their dog Coco. Her passions include spending time with family and travelling. She is fluent in English, Telugu and Hindi.
